SACHA KORN

Between Sound and Controversy

Sacha Korn is a musician, producer, and music manager. Born in Potsdam in 1975, he initially studied business administration before earning a scholarship to the Los Angeles Music Academy and the renowned Musicians Institute (MIT) in California. Further studies with jazz legend Prof. Michael Sagmeister in Frankfurt/Main laid the foundation for a vast network in the international music scene – as a consultant to Terence Trent D’Arby and with successful releases including collaborations with Eminem in Eastern Europe, some of which achieved gold status.

Since 2009, Korn has released music under his own name – powerful, uncompromising, edgy. His music oscillates between metal, rock, EBM, and industrial. He has performed live with his band worldwide: from China to Texas, from Moscow to Berlin. His version of “Das Lied der Deutschen” reached number 1 on the Amazon Rock Charts in 2016, immediately after a terrorist attack.

Korn’s artistic path is marked by independence, a bold stance, and deliberate friction. Several albums, international tours, over 100,000 views on his music videos, and a steadily growing fanbase underline his relevance outside the mainstream. His latest single “König” appears on the sampler Face the Beat Vol. 5, which currently holds the top spot on the global alternative and gothic charts.

Sacha Korn stands for music with conviction. For sound that does not aim to please - but to provoke. For art that takes a stand when others remain silent.

2024

Korn Returns to the Global Charts: The single König appears on the compilation Face the Beat Vol. 5, which reaches number 1 in the international gothic and alternative charts.

2019

With the single Unsere Kraft, another musical manifesto emerges: combative, patriotic, unshakable.

2016

The sound gets harder, the stance clearer: Feuer is released – a metal statement against Deutschrock clones and Onkelz imitations. The album becomes a hit, the most successful in the band’s history. Remixes by the EBM band Acylum make it onto international dark electro playlists.

When Islamist terrorists attack a Berlin Christmas market, Korn releases Das Lied der Deutschen as a benefit EP. The result: number 1 on the Amazon charts – the band’s first number-one hit.

2012 - 2013

The controversial EP Das Lied der Deutschen sells over 15,000 copies – despite a retailer boycott. Korn becomes a voice for the inconvenient. The album Funkenflug follows – with music videos that tell stories and push boundaries.

2011

A management error brings Korn into the headlines. The rights to his music end up on a schoolyard CD distributed by the NPD (a far-right party) – without his knowledge. The press explodes, and the Office for the Protection of the Constitution follows suit. A false claim appears in the official report. Korn fights back – and wins. An administrative court orders the deletion. What remains: mistrust of the media and authorities, but also a strengthened resolve for independence.

2009

After years abroad, he returns to Germany – with a new band, a clear sound, and an uncompromising course. The debut Nokout becomes a battle cry against the watered-down mainstream. The sound? Raw, edgy, honest.

1975

Born in 1975 in Potsdam, raised between the mustiness of the Eastern Bloc and the chaos of reunification. Initially studied economics, then turned 100% to music – with a scholarship to Hollywood. Studied jazz at the Los Angeles Music Academy and the legendary Musicians Institute (MIT). This was followed by a stint in Frankfurt/Main with jazz icon Michael Sagmeister, then early performances in China, a record deal in Russia, concerts from Texas to Teltow. Korn dives into the global music scene – and carves out a space of his own.
